This week at The Academy of Westhaven, we focused on sensory! We discussed the importance of Sensory Play with both the kids and parents. Did you know sensory builds nerve connections in the brains's pathways, or that sensory play is great to calm anxious or frustrated children?! How cool and helpful is that info?! The kids loved getting their hands in shaving cream and squishing it around. We even had a class room use water beads to sort out colors, which focuses on both cognitive skills, as well as fine and gross motor skills! Sensory Play is so much fun!!!
