Happy Wednesday and Happy New Year Academy of Westhaven families! We are so excited for all the fun this year holds and are having a blast with all of this week’s activities to kick off the New Year!
Today we embraced the chilly weather and did a fun activity to warm us up. Each classroom got to make Hot Chocolate Slime! This was the first time we’ve done this activity and it was definitely a favorite. It was so easy to make by just mixing three ingredients, hot chocolate powder of your choice, liquid starch, and marshmallows of course! ;) The littles enjoyed helping pour all of the ingredients together and using teamwork to get the correct measurements needed to create their concoction! After we mixed all the slime, the littles couldn’t wait to get their hands on it! They loved exploring the texture and feel of the marshmallows, and loved squishing and popping them! They were full of giggles as the aroma of hot chocolate filled the air. It was also a great help in building those growing fine motor skills!
The littles spent the afternoon playing “Hot Chocolate Party” and filled their cups from dramatic with the Hot Cocoa Slime. It was such a fun versatile activity that the littles expanded on with their imaginations as they played with it more and more. We can’t wait to make it again! What are some fun winter activities you have enjoyed with your littles?
