Hidden Colors
Happy Tuesday Academy of Westhaven Families! We have started another amazing week at AOW and the fun has been nonstop. The littles have been loving the warmer weather and getting to spend the extra time outside.
Our favorite activity was Hidden Colors! This was the best science experiment ever. This was so much more than just your average baking soda and vinegar science experiment. The littles were all convinced that they were participating in a real magic trick. We wanted to introduce our littles to a new kind of science activity that didn’t just fizz for two seconds and we were done. We wanted something extra fun, and we achieved just that..even with our big kids!
We gave the littles a muffin tin with baking soda in each cup..little did they know that hidden underneath the baking soda was a drop of food coloring! The littles had NO IDEA. We sat down and got to chat about what each thing was in the tin and as well as what was in our squeeze bottle(vinegar) The littles were so eager to see the chemical reaction they were already anticipating but when they added the vinegar to the baking soda they were wowed with a different color each time along with the fun eruption of fizz too, of course. 😉 They were so excited to see what color they were going to discover in the next muffin cup and shouted excitedly each time..RED! GREEN! YELLOW!
Our littles loved it and were already asking to do it again the next day. Check out some of the fun below!
