Today, we celebrated the famed children's author! Can you believe that Dr. Seuss would have been 110 this year? This week is "Read Across America" -a week sponsored by the National Education Association. This weeklong event was created in hopes of helping our children develop a true love and passion for reading. You can learn more about Read Across America
here and
here. All of our kids were invited to dress up as their favorite characters, but I think they most enjoyed seeing Ms. Tori, Ms. Katie, Ms. Melissa, and Ms. Christy in their costumes!!
Ms. Melissa, excuse me, the Cat in the Hat, enjoyed reading stories to all of our classrooms! All of our friends even got to go home with their very own Cat in the Hat hats-they were so excited!
This afternoon, they enjoyed a delicious "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" themed snack!
We had such a fun day, celebrating an author who has touched so many young readers. His words have encouraged a love of reading and the inspiration to use our imaginations!
Some of our favorite quotes at AoW are from Dr. Seuss books-check out some of his most popular quotes of all time
