Let's Build Week: A Week Full of Creativity, Construction, and Fun!

 

What an exciting week we've had during our Let's Build Week! Our little builders spent the week exploring, creating, problem-solving, and working together through a variety of hands-on construction-themed activities.

We kicked off the week with Demolition Day! The children had a blast safely knocking down structures and exploring how things come apart. This activity encouraged teamwork, curiosity, and plenty of excitement as they discovered the engineering behind building and rebuilding.

On Tool Time Tuesday, our young constructors explored a variety of construction tools. We discussed what different tools are used for, how builders use them, and practiced using child-friendly versions during our activities. The children enjoyed investigating the tools and learning about the important jobs they help people accomplish.

Wednesday's Box Building activity sparked incredible creativity! Using cardboard boxes of all shapes and sizes, the children worked together to design and build their very own village. They then decorated their creations with paint, markers, and other materials, bringing their imaginative community to life. It was wonderful to see their ideas, collaboration, and creativity shine throughout the project.

Thursday brought one of the week's highlights with Dig, Dump, and Build Day. The children explored construction-themed sensory and building activities, digging, hauling, and constructing just like real builders. To make the day even more special, we welcomed a very exciting visitor—a tractor! The children loved getting an up-close look and learning more about how tractors help with big construction and building jobs.

We wrapped up our amazing week with an indoor Water Day on Friday. The children enjoyed water-based activities, splashing, exploring, and cooling off while continuing to learn through play. Laughter and smiles filled the room as everyone celebrated a fantastic week together.

As we reflect on all the fun, creativity, and learning that took place, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our families for your continued support. Your involvement, encouragement, and partnership help us create meaningful experiences and magical memories for the children. Play The Day Away: A Wonderful First Week of Summer!

What an incredible start to our summer program! Our first week was packed with laughter, excitement, creativity, and plenty of opportunities for our children to play, explore, and make new memories with their friends.

We kicked off the week on Monday with Ace's Playroom! Our enrichment room was transformed into an exciting indoor play zone filled with obstacle courses, giant Connect Four, and a variety of fun activities that kept everyone moving, exploring, and having a blast. The children loved trying new challenges and cheering each other on throughout the day.

On Tuesday, we got a little messy with our highly anticipated Slime Day! The highlight of the day was watching our teachers get slimed while the children laughed, cheered, and enjoyed every second of the fun. It was a day full of smiles and unforgettable reactions!

Wednesday brought out everyone's competitive spirit with our Minute to Win It Games. The children participated in a variety of fast-paced challenges that encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and lots of giggles. Whether they were balancing, stacking, or racing against the clock, they gave it their all and had so much fun doing it.

On Thursday, we headed outdoors for an exciting Field Day! The day was filled with giant bubbles, relay races, stacking games, and painting activities. The children enjoyed moving their bodies, expressing their creativity, and working together as they rotated through all the fun stations.

We wrapped up our first week on Friday with an all-time favorite—Water Day! There was plenty of splashing, laughter, and cooling off as the children enjoyed a variety of water activities. It was the perfect way to celebrate an amazing first week of summer fun.

We are so thankful for the opportunity to create these special memories with your children. Watching them learn, laugh, and grow through play is truly the best part of what we do. We cannot wait to continue the fun, adventures, and excitement throughout the rest of our summer program!

A Magical Night at our Pre-K Prom: Party Animals!

 What a night to remember! The Academy of Westhaven was transformed into a wild and wonderful celebration for this year’s Pre-K Prom, and the “Party Animals” theme could not have been more perfect for our energetic, joyful, and amazing Pre-K students.

From the moment our students walked through the doors dressed in their best party attire, the excitement filled the room. Laughter, music, and smiling faces created a truly magical atmosphere as we gathered to celebrate all of the incredible accomplishments our Pre-K children have achieved this year.

The evening was packed with fun activities that brought out everyone’s creativity and playful spirit. Our tattoo bar was a huge hit, giving students the chance to show off their favorite animal-inspired designs with pride. At the paint-your-own-animal station, children created colorful masterpieces that reflected their unique personalities and imaginations. It was so special watching their creativity shine!

Of course, no celebration is complete without delicious treats. Families enjoyed light refreshments while spending time together and soaking in the joyful energy of the evening. The highlight of the night, however, may have been the dance floor! Students danced the night away with their friends and teachers, showing off their best moves and making memories that will last for years to come.

As we watched our Pre-K students laugh, dance, and celebrate together, we were reminded of just how much they have grown this year. They have learned new skills, built friendships, gained confidence, and prepared for the exciting journey ahead. We are so proud of each and every one of them and honored to celebrate this important milestone together.

The Happiest Teachers on Earth: Celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week! 💖

Last week, the Academy of Westhaven was filled with extra magic, laughter, and appreciation as we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week with a Disney-inspired theme: “The Happiest Teachers on Earth!” From the moment the week began, it was clear that our incredible teachers were going to be showered with the love and recognition they so deeply deserve.

Throughout the week, we made it our mission to remind our teachers just how valued they are. Each day brought special surprises, thoughtful treats, and little moments of joy to brighten their busy days. From refreshing specialty drinks to delicious afternoon snack pick-me-ups, our teachers were spoiled with goodies that kept the smiles going all week long. Whether they were grabbing a sweet treat between lessons, enjoying a fun themed surprise in the breakroom, or taking a much-needed moment to recharge with a refreshing drink, every detail was planned with appreciation in mind.

One of the most heartwarming parts of the week was seeing the incredible support from our preschool families. We are so thankful to all of the parents who helped make this week unforgettable. Your generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness truly touched our teachers’ hearts. From the sweet notes and thoughtful gifts to the beautiful flowers, gift cards, and homemade surprises, every gesture reminded our staff how loved they are by this wonderful community.

A special thank you also goes out to the families who generously provided and catered lunches throughout the week. Sharing meals together gave our teachers a chance to relax, connect, and feel celebrated in such a meaningful way. Those moments of fellowship and appreciation made the week even more special, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, effort, and care that went into every meal and treat provided.

Teacher Appreciation Week is always a wonderful reminder of just how much our teachers pour into their classrooms each and every day. Their work goes far beyond lesson plans, crafts, and circle time. They are the comforting hugs in difficult moments, the biggest cheerleaders during milestones, the patient listeners, the gentle encouragers, and the safe place our children can count on every day. They celebrate every success, wipe every tear, answer endless questions, and create an environment where children feel loved, secure, and excited to learn.

The preschool years are some of the most important years in a child’s life. During this stage, children are building confidence, learning social and emotional skills, developing independence, and discovering the world around them. Our teachers understand the importance of these early years and approach each day with endless patience, compassion, creativity, and dedication. They consistently go above and beyond to meet the individual needs of every child while helping them grow academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

We are incredibly blessed to have such an amazing group of educators at our school. Their passion for teaching and genuine love for children shine through in everything they do. The impact they make reaches far beyond the classroom walls and will stay with these children for years to come.

To our teachers: thank you for your tireless dedication, your servant hearts, and the countless ways you make our preschool such a special place. And to our wonderful families: thank you for partnering with us and helping make Teacher Appreciation Week so magical. Together, we created a week our teachers will never forget.
