Smiles in Bloom: Our Spring Social Celebration!

 

 Our Spring Social was a beautiful celebration of sunshine, laughter, and togetherness—and what a joyful day it turned out to be! From the moment families began arriving, the air was filled with excitement as children and parents alike jumped into all the fun activities we had planned.

The children had an absolute blast exploring each station. Our flower painting activity brought out so much creativity, with little hands turning simple petals into colorful masterpieces. The bubble station was a huge hit, filling the air with shimmering bubbles and endless giggles as kids chased and popped them with delight. At the chalk station, the sidewalks came alive with bright drawings, imaginative designs, and plenty of happy smiles.

One of the most popular spots of the day was the animal washing station, where children carefully “cleaned” their toy animals with soapy water—an activity full of both fun and learning. And of course, our bug exploration sensory bin sparked curiosity and wonder, giving children the chance to dig, discover, and engage with the tiny world of bugs in a hands-on way.

What made the day truly special wasn’t just the activities, but the time we shared together as a community. Seeing families connect, children laugh, and everyone simply enjoy being present in the moment is what these gatherings are all about. These are the memories that stay with us—the moments of joy, connection, and togetherness.

We are so grateful to all of our wonderful families for being a part of our community. Thank you for joining us, for your support, and for helping create such meaningful experiences for your children. We cherish the memories we’ve made together and look forward to many more in the future.

Happy Earth Day!

Our friends had a wonderful time celebrating Earth Day together! It was a joyful day full of hands-on learning, teamwork, and appreciation for the beautiful world around us.

We kicked off our festivities with a fun and creative sensory activity. Our friends explored blue and green paint as they created their very own pictures of the Earth. They loved feeling the different textures and mixing colors while learning about the oceans and land that make our planet so special. It was amazing to see their creativity shine as they proudly shared their artwork!

Next, our friends became little Earth helpers by working together to clean up our playground. With the sun shining and a gentle breeze in the air, they enjoyed the beautiful weather that our Earth provides for us every day. As they picked up and cared for their outdoor space, they learned how even small actions can make a big difference in keeping our environment clean and safe.

We also explored an interactive sensory bin that helped teach our friends about ways to care for the Earth. Through hands-on play, they discovered what helps the Earth—like recycling and planting—and what can hurt it, such as littering. This activity sparked great conversations and helped our friends begin to understand how they can be responsible caretakers of our planet.

We are so proud of how engaged and thoughtful our friends were throughout our Earth Day celebrations. It is clear that they love the Earth and are eager to help take care of it. We are incredibly thankful to have such kind, curious, and caring children as part of our preschool community!

An Easter Extravaganza!

 Spring was in the air at the Academy of Westhaven, as we celebrated a joyful and memorable Easter season together! Our Easter festivities brought smiles, laughter, and a wonderful sense of community as we gathered with families and friends to enjoy the occasion.

Our classrooms were filled with excitement during our Easter parties, where children and their loved ones came together to share in the fun. We enjoyed a variety of yummy snacks that made the celebration even sweeter. The children also had a great time expressing their creativity with colorful Easter-themed coloring sheets and participating in playful games that kept everyone engaged and giggling.

One of the most anticipated moments of the day was our Easter egg hunt. With baskets in hand and eyes wide with excitement, the children eagerly searched high and low for hidden treasures. Laughter echoed across the playground as eggs were discovered, one by one. Afterward, the children proudly showed off their finds to their friends, comparing goodies and sharing in each other’s excitement. It was truly a heartwarming sight to see their joy and enthusiasm.

We are so grateful to our wonderful parents for your unending support and love. Your involvement helps make these special moments possible, and we cherish the opportunity to create lasting memories together.

Spring has Sprung at AOW!

 Spring has officially sprung, and what a joyful, activity-filled week we’ve had here at the Academy of Westhaven!
Our classrooms have been buzzing with excitement as we welcomed the new season with hands-on learning, creativity, and plenty of time outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather.

One of the highlights of our week was our recycling sensory bin. The children had a wonderful time exploring and sorting a variety of materials, from paper and plastic to metal items. Not only was this a fun and engaging activity, but it also sparked meaningful conversations about the importance of taking care of our planet. It was incredible to see how quickly they caught on to the idea of recycling and how proud they were to sort items into the correct groups!

We also tapped into our creative sides with a coffee filter flower craft. The children used vibrant colors and their imaginations to design their very own flowers, each one unique and beautiful. Watching their masterpieces come to life was such a special experience, and their excitement to share their creations with you made it even more meaningful.

To top off our fantastic week, we celebrated with Bike Day! The children brought their bikes and helmets and spent time riding around, laughing, and enjoying the sunshine with their friends. It was the perfect way to embrace the warmer weather and encourage active play while building friendships and confidence.

As we look ahead to the rest of the spring season, we are so excited for all the fun, learning, and memorable moments still to come. From outdoor adventures to creative projects, there’s so much in store!

Shamrocks, Smiles, and So Much Fun!

St. Patrick’s Day was full of magic, laughter, and a little bit of mischief here at the Academy of Westhaven! Our classroom was transformed into a festive sea of green as our friends arrived dressed in their best St. Patrick’s Day outfits, ready for a day of fun and learning.

One of the highlights of the day was creating our very own leprechaun traps! The children worked so hard designing and building their traps, using their creativity and problem-solving skills to try and catch one of those tricky little leprechauns. We saw everything from colorful boxes to cleverly disguised “bait,” and the excitement was contagious as everyone wondered if their trap would work overnight!

We also mixed in plenty of learning with our celebrations. The children participated in ABC identifying games, where they practiced recognizing letters in a fun, hands-on way. As they successfully identified their letters, they were rewarded with shiny “gold coins,” which made the activity even more exciting and engaging.

Another favorite activity was our “Catch the Leprechaun’s Rainbow” game! Armed with sticky hands, the children tried to catch pieces of the rainbow as they flew through the air. There was so much laughter and joy as they jumped, reached, and cheered each other on.

It was truly a day filled with smiles, creativity, and festive fun. Our friends had an amazing time celebrating together, and we loved seeing their excitement in every activity.
