Outta This World Week: A Stellar Adventure at The Academy of Westhaven! 🚀🌎✨

What an outta this world week we had at The Academy of Westhaven! Our little explorers blasted off on an exciting adventure through space, learning, discovering, and making memories along the way. From astronauts to asteroids and even a special visit from a real-life astronaut, every day was filled with fun and wonder!

🚀 Monday: Astronaut School

We kicked off our week with Astronaut School! Our kiddos learned what it takes to be an astronaut and imagined what it would be like to travel beyond Earth. They practiced their astronaut skills, explored space-themed activities, and learned all about the incredible people who journey into space. We had some very enthusiastic future astronauts in our classrooms!

🌌 Tuesday: Galaxy Exploration

On Tuesday, our little astronauts ventured into the galaxy! We explored stars, planets, and the wonders of outer space. The kiddos got to use their imaginations as they discovered what makes our galaxy so amazing. There was so much curiosity, excitement, and plenty of “Wow!” moments throughout the day!

☄️ Wednesday: Asteroid Toss

Wednesday brought some action with our Asteroid Toss! Our kiddos had a blast putting their throwing skills to the test as they tried to send their “asteroids” flying. It was the perfect combination of movement, laughter, and space-themed fun!

👨‍🚀 Thursday: A Visit From a REAL-LIFE Astronaut!

Thursday was truly outta this world! We were so excited to welcome a real-life astronaut as our special guest! Our kiddos had the incredible opportunity to learn from someone who has actually experienced the wonders of space. Their faces lit up as they listened, asked questions, and soaked up this unforgettable experience. What an amazing way to inspire our young explorers to dream big!

👽 Friday: Martian Mash

We wrapped up our stellar week with our Martian Mash! Our little space travelers celebrated all the fun they had throughout the week with plenty of dancing, laughter, and outta-this-world excitement. It was the perfect way to finish our adventure together!

A Colorful Week of Creativity at the Academy of Westhaven!

What an unforgettable week we've had at The Academy of Westhaven! Our annual Krafty Kids Week was packed with creativity, imagination, and hands-on fun. Each day gave our little artists the opportunity to explore new materials, express themselves, and create something uniquely their own. We loved watching their confidence and excitement grow with every project!

Monday: Lantern Creations

We kicked off the week by decorating our very own lanterns! The children used colorful markers, stickers, tissue paper, and other fun materials to design beautiful lanterns that reflected their unique personalities. They were so proud to show off their glowing masterpieces and loved seeing everyone's creative ideas come to life. 

Tuesday: Spinning Art Fun

Tuesday was all about color and motion! The children had an amazing time creating spinning art, watching bright paint swirl and mix into one-of-a-kind masterpieces. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and excitement as each spin revealed a new surprise. Every piece turned out as unique as the little artist who made it!

Wednesday: Creation Station

Our Creation Station was a huge hit! The children explored different ways to create by painting colorful pictures, sculpting with fun materials, and letting their imaginations lead the way. It was wonderful to see them experimenting, collaborating with friends, and taking pride in everything they created. The classroom was filled with creativity from every corner!

Thursday: Foam Party Celebration

After several days of creating masterpieces, it was time for a little messy fun! Our Foam Party had everyone laughing, dancing, and playing together. The children loved running through the mountains of fluffy foam, making memories with their classmates, and enjoying a fun-filled outdoor adventure. It was definitely a highlight of the week!

Friday: Garden Rock Painting

We wrapped up Krafty Kids Week by painting beautiful garden rocks. The children transformed ordinary rocks into colorful works of art using bright paints and creative designs. Whether they painted rainbows, flowers, hearts, or silly patterns, each rock became a special keepsake to take home and enjoy.

Krafty Kids Week was filled with creativity, exploration, and so many joyful moments. Experiences like these help children build fine motor skills, express themselves through art, and most importantly, have fun while learning. Thank you to all of our wonderful families for supporting these special activities. We hope your children enjoyed sharing their creations and stories from the week as much as we enjoyed making memories with them!

Camp Academy Week: A Week Full of Outdoor Adventures!

What an incredible week we had during Camp Academy Week! Our enrichment room was transformed into a campsite where our little campers explored, discovered, played, and made memories with their friends. Every day brought a new adventure, and we loved seeing the excitement on each child's face as they embraced all the fun camp-themed activities.

We started the week by welcoming everyone to our very own classroom campsite! Friends explored the campsite, practiced their camping skills, and took on an exciting camp obstacle course. They climbed, balanced, crawled, and cheered each other on as they completed each challenge. It was the perfect way to kick off an adventurous week!

The fun continued with a variety of exciting camp activities! Some friends grabbed their fishing poles and tried their luck at "catching" fish, while others joined in our exciting Camp Wars games. There were plenty of opportunities for teamwork, friendly competition, laughter, and problem-solving as everyone worked together and encouraged one another throughout the activities.

One of the biggest highlights of the week was our camp-themed Water Day! Friends cooled off with water balloon fights and participated in a variety of fun water games inspired by life at camp. There were lots of smiles, giggles, and splashes as everyone enjoyed the sunshine and celebrated summer together.

We wrapped up Camp Academy Week with a special classroom campout! Friends arrived with tents, sleeping bags, flashlights, and other camping gear, turning our classroom into the ultimate indoor campground. We enjoyed pretending to camp together, exploring our cozy campsites, and celebrating an amazing week filled with friendship, imagination, and adventure.
