Happy Tuesday Academy of Westhaven families! We have had a great start to April with the warmer weather and spring fun! Our littles recently got to Green our Scene and create their very own miniature neighborhood, bursting with vibrant greenery and colorful houses.
With containers in hand and excitement in their hearts, our preschoolers set out to plant grass seeds. As they carefully sprinkled the seeds into the soil, they learned about the importance of nurturing and caring for living things. This hands-on experience provided a valuable lesson in responsibility and growth.
But the fun didn't stop there! Our littles got to work coloring pictures of houses, each one as unique and charming as the next. Their imaginations ran wild as they brought their creations to life with crayons and markers.
Next came the magical moment of combining the two elements. With their grass seeds planted and their houses colored, the children carefully nestled their creations together in the containers. As they arranged their houses in the soil, their very own neighborhood began taking shape before their eyes.
With our neighborhood complete, our preschoolers eagerly took on the role of our littles gardeners. They will be watering their “yards” each day throughout the month. As they watch the grass seeds sprout and grow, they'll witness firsthand the wonders of nature and the fruits of their labor.
Our littles loved creating their own mini neighborhood but also beginning their love for nature and learning that will last a lifetime. Through hands on activities like this, we're sowing the seeds for a brighter, greener future..one neighborhood at a time.
