💚🦴Fizzy Bones Science Experiment🦴💚
Happy Tuesday Academy of Westhaven families! We are so excited for all of the spooky fun this week. I can hardly believe that we are in our last week of October, but we have had the best time making so many memories together this month!
Last week our little scientists had a spook-tacular time with a hands-on Fizzy Bones experiment! We began with skeleton molds, which we carefully filled with a baking soda mixture and set to freeze overnight. The frozen "bones" were ready to create some Halloween magic the next day.
When it was time for the experiment, each child received their own set of skeleton bones, along with pipettes and cups of vinegar. They eagerly used the pipettes to drop vinegar onto the bones, watching in awe as the fizzy reaction brought their skeletons to life!
Through this activity, our young scientists explored basic chemistry concepts, fine-tuned their fine motor skills using the pipettes, and had a blast learning how to create a bubbling effect. The children loved every moment of this Halloween science adventure, and we’re sure they’ll be talking about their *Fizzy Bones* for days to come! Check out the fun below!
