✨Magic Snow✨
Happy Tuesday Academy of Westhaven Families! We are so excited to start another amazing week with our fantastic littles. The littles have loved some of the activities that we have done lately, with it being so chilly outside..we are bringing the outdoors indoors. We have so much winter fun planned for this week, we are just getting started. Yesterday we made Magic Snow! It was so easy, and the littles were AMAZED.
We used a few simple ingredients and the play lasted for a good 30 minutes.
We used a few boxes of baking soda, water, vinegar and some food coloring(which is optional but made it so much more fun!)
First the littles were all hands on and got to do the ingredients all by themselves. We mixed the baking soda and some water together. Once that reached the consistency we liked the littles were able to make snowballs and snowmen. They enjoyed squishing it between their fingers and noticed and it felt cold without ever refrigerating it. They loved it. The fun didn’t stop there….next we added a little magic. We added some of our food coloring to the cups of vinegar we set up and then took turns dropping our snowballs into the mixture. The snowballs erupted and the littles couldn’t believe it! They were so excited to take turns to try out the different colors. We then talked about the reaction of our Baking Soda snowballs to the vinegar in our cups. We quickly learned that it wasn’t magic snowballs, just really cool science. Check out the fun below!
