❄️Snow Shovel Race❄️
Happy Tuesday Academy of Westhaven Families! We have had such a great start to the week, filled with all the fun snow activities and getting our Fitness Fanatics program well under way! The littles have loved the Obstacle courses set up each day in the enrichment room. We’ve come up with fun and creative ways to help keep our bodies moving. This week we had a fun snowman snowball toss, we will be having Eye Exams, and Ice Fishing. The littles favorite so far was our Snow Shovel Race!
Our Snow Shovel Race game was a hit for all ages, even our young twos loved it! We set a timer (developmentally appropriate for each age group) and then the little had a race against a friend to see who could scoop up the most Snowballs (cotton balls) in that time. It was mess free, easy to set up, and we already had the materials on hand! This was so great to work on building those grasping skills and also crossing the midline while grabbing the snowballs. We even got to work on our cognitive skills by counting the amount of snowballs collected at the end of each round.
